Women's Lacrosse Falls Short at Home

PITTSBURGH, PA - The Lady Redhawks were finally back on Bariel Field after a long few games on the road. The women's lacrosse team put out their best effort, and with a few key players out on injury, La Roche could not reserve the win.

Even though the team didn't have the outcome they fought for there were still some breaks in the clouds.

Offensively, Courtney Spiering took four shots and she scored on three of those shots. Malia Sigg also completed a goal tonight; both athletes were unassisted in their scoring efforts.

Jasey Resider, Tea Smith, and Kate McCallister also got off shots in tonight's matchup.

Leading the team on defense was Tara Lasher. Lasher caused two turnovers and made 19 saves during the entirety of the game spent in the goalie net.

Sigg, Sophia Costa, Reagan Roblaski, Jade Fuccaro and Smith each also hung tough defensively and forced a turnover each of their own.

Fuccaro scooped up the most ground balls in this contest with four. She was followed shortly after by Reiser who snagged three.

Sigg, McCallaster, Spiering, and Smith each collected one ground ball.

The Redhawks area back on the road again Tuesday to Fransciscan for a battle under the lights. First draw is at 6:00 PM.
