Ashley Kennedy Dubbed AMCC Bowler of the Week

NORTH BOSTON, N.Y. - The Alleghney Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) announced Thursday morning that Freshman Ashley Kennedy of the women's bowling team was their Bowler of the Week. Earlier this week, Kennedy was named the La Roche Athlete of the Week by the Athletics Department. It is the first time in her young career Kennedy has received the distinguished honor. Ashley Kennedy (Warminster, PA/William Tennent) excelled at last weekend's three-day invitational hosted by Saint Francis University which consisted of four Division I schools, two Division II schools and three Division III schools. In day two of the Red Flash invite, Kennedy finished 9th out of 59 individual competitors, totalling 929 pins in five traditional games, an average score of 185.8 per game. Kennedy was the only D-III student-athlete to finish in the top 10. On Saturday, against undefeated, nationally ranked #13 Mount St. Mary's, Kennedy bowled the highest score in the match, totalling 210 pins, her best mark of the tournament. On the week, Kennedy averaged an 18.54 per frame score in traditional play (1st in AMCC) and 14.84 in Baker format.
