McCANDLESS, Pa. - On Monday morning, the La Roche Athletics Departments named Ashley Kennedy (Warminster, PA/William Tennent) of the women's bowling team as the Athlete of the Week (1/20-1/26). Kennedy excelled at last weekend's three-day invitational hosted by Saint Francis University which consisted of four Division I schools (Saint Francis, Mount St. Mary's, Youngstown St., Morgan St.), two Division II schools (Walsh, Felician) and three Division III schools (Mount Aloysius, Penn St.-Altoona, La Roche). 

In day two of the Red Flash invite, Ashley finished 9th out of 59 individual competitors, totalling 929 pins in five traditional games, an average score of 185.8 per game. Kennedy was the only D-III student-athlete to finish in the top 10. 

On Saturday, January 25th, against undefeated, nationally ranked #13 Mount St. Mary's, Ashley Kennedy bowled the highest score in the match, totalling 210 pins, her best mark of the tournament. An extremely impressive feat for any D-III collegiate bowler let alone a Freshman.
