Women's Bowling Battle Bearcats in Three Matches

GREENSBURG, Pa. - La Roche women's bowling team (2-13) faced off against the St. Vincent Bearcats (27-4) for the second time this season in head-to-head competition last night at Hillview Lanes. The teams played three matches, one traditional and two best of five-game Baker sets.

The Bearcats won the first point, a traditional game, by a score of 719-641. The total pinfall is the Redhawks fourth best this season. Freshman Ashley Kennedy (Warminster, PA/William Tennent) bowled a team best 165 in the first game. All five competitors for LRU bowled over 100. 

SVC then captured the final two points by winning both five-game Baker sets by scores of 758-611 and 751-551.

Senior Jessica Nakamura (Alea,HI/Kamehameha Kapalama) posted a team best per-frame average of 12.7 in Baker play. 

Saint Vincent holds the highest winning percentage in the NCAA, now at .870. 

NEXT UP: The Redhawks head out to Bavarian Hall/Gerhart Lanes this Sunday, December 8th to take on Penn St. Altoona beginning at noon.
