Redhawks Capture a win on the Road

Pittsburgh, PA - The Lady Redhawks went to the home of the Mavericks in Buffalo, NY, and after a hard fought four periods, La Roche is coming back to the 'Burgh with a win.

The four quarters were hard fought, and it's a good thing LRU played as hard as they did, scoring 29 points to MC's 10 in the second quarter. This gave the team the momentum they needed to come home with a secured win.

The team earned 29 points from turnovers and put 30 points in the bucket in the paint. The Redhawks also shot 38% from field goal range and totaled 46 rebounds.

La Roche had five athletes put double digits in the scorebook tonight.

Ayanna Mazyck was not only the leading scorer in tonight's contest, but also the leading rebounder. Mazyck netted 18 points, and captured eight rebounds. She shot 47% from field goal range and went 100% at the foul line.

Makayla Abram was next up in the leaderboard. Abram brought home 16 points for the Redhawks. So far the freshman has 135 points on the season, and is averaging 12 points a game.

Nia Thomas was back this week and she contributed 13 points to tonight's win. Thomas shot 50% from field goal range, and went 3-3 on the foul line.

Danajah Sanders and Alexis Robison were the other two athletes to achieve double digits in tonight's game. Sanders netted 10, and Robison added 11.
