Women's Hoops Rolls Past Pitt-Greensburg, La Roche Remains Tied Atop AMCC Standings

PITTSBURGH, PA -- La Roche women's hoops rolled to a 68-43 victory over Pitt-Greensburg on Wednesday evening. The Redhawks avenge an earlier loss to the Bobcats and improve to 10-7 overall and remain tied for first in the AMCC at 9-2.

La Roche never trailed. They held a 12-4 lead at the end of the first quarter, but Pitt-Greensburg narrowed the gap to just one point with 1:25 left in the first half. The Redhawks closed the half on a tear, making three straight stops and scoring eight straight points. Danajah Sanders opened the run with a layup and three-pointer. Jenna Cole then forced a steal with 5 seconds remaining and found Nia Thomas for a layup just before the half.

La Roche opened the second half on a 21-4 run and never looked back. The Bobcats made just three field goals the entire third quarter while the Redhawks built a 52-28 lead through three quarters.

The game was already out of reach by the fourth quarter, as the Redhawks cruised to the twenty-five point victory.

Five Redhawks scored in double-figures. Jenna Cole registered her fourth double-double of the season with 17 points and 13 rebounds. Danajah Sanders had 12 points, Sidney Farmer 11 points, and Dasja Anderson and Nia Thomas 10 points.

Dalezsa Regan had 10 rebounds, while Shaundrea Butler had 6 assists and 5 steals.

The Redhawks forced 23 Pitt-Greensburg turnovers. They held a 22-10 edge on the offensive glass, and allowed the Bobcats to hit just 15 field goals.
