Women's Basketball Picked to Finish Third in the AMCC, Cole and Anderson are Preseason Players to Watch

The La Roche women's basketball team is predicted to return to form in 2018-19 and finish third in the AMCC Conference. AMCC All-Conference Third Teamer Jenna Cole and newcomer Dasja Anderson are AMCC Preseason Players to Watch.

AMCC Preseason Coach's Poll

Junior F Jenna Cole (North Huntington, PA/Norwin)...Two-time third team all-conference selection…Ranked 10th in the AMCC at 14.8 points per game and 13th in rebounding, averaging 7.1 a game…At one point in 2018, strung together five straight double-doubles and had six on the season…Closed the season with twelve straight games scoring in double figures.

Freshman F Dasja Anderson (Twinsburg, OH/Twinsburg HS)…Akron Touchdown Club All-Stars…Summit/Stark All Star Game…WTCBCA Player of the Year…First Team WTCBCA…WTCBCA All Star Game, Third Team North East Inland All District…GCBCA All Star Game. 

5-Time AMCC Champion Coach Kamela Gissendaner returns to lead the Redhawks this season. Gissendanner is 116-23 overall and 85-5 in the AMCC in her previous five seasons at La Roche.

The Redhawks play a tough out of conference schedule. They open with Washington & Jefferson on November 10. They then travel to York, PA for the York College Tournament. They will play York on November 16 and either SUNY Geneseo or Lycoming on November 17.

La Roche travels to Crestville Hills, KY on November 24-25. They play Dominican on The Friday and then meet #5 Thomas More for the final game of the tournament. They close non-conference play on December 20 at Denison.

The Redhawks open AMCC Conference play on November 28 when they host Penn State Behrend. La Roche hosts AMCC Champion Hilbert on December 15.
