PITTSBURGH, PA – The Redhawks avenged their only conference loss of the season defeating Franciscan 75-56 on Wednesday at the Fitness Center. At halftime, La Roche honored four Redhawks as members of the 2014-15 AMCC All-Conference Team.
La Roche entered halftime with a 39-27 advantage and were led by two of the nation's top scorers. The AMCC's Player of the Week, TiChina Mitchell, had a double-double in the first half with 15 points and 10 rebounds while Sabrina McLin added 14 points. La Roche outrebounded Franciscan 23-8 and hit 48% of their shots.
The Redhawks upped their lead to twenty-one at the end of the third quarter. La Roche shot an incredible 78% in the quarter and McLin scored 8 points. Franciscan outscored La Roche in the fourth quarter but the game was already out of reach as the Redhawks cruised to the win.
Mitchell and McLin each finished with 24 points and now rank 1-2 in the AMCC Conference in scoring. Mitchell also pulled down 12 rebounds while McLin had 7. Mackenzie O'Donnell reached double-figures with 15 points and Danasha Harris pulled down 10 rebounds.
La Roche concludes the regular season on Saturday when they host Medaille. Tip-off is at 4PM.
