ERIE, PA -- The La Roche women's basketball team went wire to wire in their 78-64win over Penn State Behrend on Saturday. The victory extends the Lady Redhawks AMCC road win-streak to seventeen games.
La Roche's biggest point outbreaks came at the beginning of the first and third quarters. They opened the game on a 10-0 run and exited the lockerroom with eleven straight points.
Sabrina McLin and TiChina Mitchell combined for over two-third's of the Lady Redhawks points. McLin finished with 32 points (12 of 18) while Mitchell had her fifth straight double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds. Mackenzie O'Donnell had 14 points and 8 rebounds in the victory.
La Roche's stingy defense helped bring them another win. They held Behrend to just 34% from the floor while also forcing twenty-four turnovers.
The Lady Redhawks return to the Kerr Fitness Center for their AMCC home opener against Mt. Aloysius this Wednesday. The game is a matchup of conference unbeateans.
