Women's Hoops Overcomes Large Deficit But Falls to Otterbein Late

Crestview Hills, KY -- The women's basketball team opened the Julie Costelo Memorial Classic falling to Otterbein University 67-57 on Friday night. The Thanksgiving Tournament is played on the campus of Thomas More University.

Otterbein entered the lockerroom with a 37-20 lead but the Lady Redhawks stormed back in the second half. La Roche used improved shooting and strong defense to cut the deficit to just two points at the 7:47 mark. They stayed within two points with three minutes left but Otterbein attempted sixteen free throws under two minutes and held on for the win. 

Sabrina McLin was the game's leading scorer finishing with 21 points and 5 three-pointers. LaShauna Brothers had 15 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 steals while Shataya White added 6 assists. Danasha Harris grabbed 8 boards and added 4 steals in the loss.

The Lady Redhawks return to the court tomorrow night to take on Thomas More. The Saints are currently ranked third in the nation and went to the elite 8 last year.
