Lady Redhawks Pick Up Big Road Win, Defeat Frostburg State 71-58

FROSTBURG, MD -- The La Roche women's basketball team went on the road to defeat Frostburg State University 71-58 in non-conference action on Monday night.

The Lady Redhawks went on a 9-0 run in the first half's final minute to take a 40-21 lead into the lockerroom. LaShauna Brothers and Sabrina McLin each scored 8 first half points while Danasha Harris grabbed 9 rebounds.

La Roche's success continued in the second half with Mckenzie O'Donnell producing 12 of the team's points and Brothers adding eight.

O'Donnell led all scorers with 17 points and went 5 for 8 from the field. Brothers finished with 16 points and 7 rebounds while McLin had 10 points. Harris contributed 8 points, 12 rebounds, and 6 steals in the victory.

La Roche finished with an incredible 52 rebounds, their second most in the past five seasons. In addition to their terrific night on the glass, they also forced 31 turnovers on 22 steals and made 24 free throws.

The Lady Redhawks are on the road this weekend and will travel to the Julie Costello Memorial Classic in Crestview Hills, Kentucky. They will play Otterbein on Friday night and then Thomas More on Saturday.
