ERIE, PA - La Roche softball recorded their first win of the AMCC Championship tournament 4-2 over No. 5 seed Pitt-Bradford.
The star of the show was Alexis Myers in the circle this afternoon who walked zero Panthers' batters. She struck out one and surrendered 2 runs over seven hits. She remained in the circle for all 7 innings and recorded a hit of her own.
The Redhawks took an early lead in the first inning, scoring 2 runs, and continued to build upon their lead in the third and seventh innings, scoring one run each inning.
Myers, Kennedi Winslow, Katie Gaughan, and Emma Bizay each recorded a hit for the team. Bizay, Gaughan, and Winslow each recorded an RBI.
La Roche will be back this afternoon to take on No. 1 seed, and tournament host, Penn State Behrend. The tentative game time is planned for 4 PM.
