Softball Splits Series with Alfred State

ALFRED, NY - This afternoon the softball team of La Roche University battled hard in two tough competitions against the Alfred State Pioneers, each with different results., 

GAME ONE

The Redhawks in game one game back with intensity after falling behind to a five-run deficit in the fifth inning. La Roche made their comeback at the top of the sixth inning, scoring four runs. 

The team out-hit the Pioneers 13-10, but some errors in the field from La Roche put them in a tough position to keep Alfred from crossing the plate. 

To lead the comeback inning was Garrah Milochik, Alexis Myers, and Macy Vignolini who all moved runners across the plate to earn RBIs in the inning. 

Kennedi Winslow took the loss in the circle. Winslow surrendered six hits and six runs while striking out one. 

GAME TWO 

The second matchup for the Redhawks proved to be more the team we've come to know this season, defeating the Pioneers 6-1. 

La Roche opened game two with a big 3-run inning in their very first-round at-bat. Kennedi Wislow opened up scoring in the first inning with a single, scoring the first run. 

Alexis Myers earned the win for the Redhawks. The senior surrendered one run on six hits over the course of just over four innings. Hoover came in to throw the final two innings in relief, recording the final eight outs and with them the save for the afternoon. 

La Roche earned 12 hits in game two. Emma Bizay, Winslow, Garrah Milochik, Myers, and Abby Hoffman each recorded two hits this afternoon. Bizay led at the plate going 2-for-3. 

The team will play one final regular season AMCC conference game against the Mount Aloysius Mounties next Saturday at the Mounties' field. Game times are 3:00 and 5:00 PM.
