PITTSBURGH, PA - La Roche softball managed through a push by Hilbert in the second inning where the Redhawks coughed up three runs, but La Rochestill won 13-3 on Saturday.
LRU fired up the offense in the first inning, when Alexis Myers singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.
The Redhawks scored five runs in the sixth inning. The offensive onslaught came from singles by Emily Waldrop, Quinn Hughes, and Katie Gaughan and a double by Macy Vignolini.
Myers got the start for La Roche University. The righthander went six innings, allowing three runs on four hits, striking out three and walking one.
The team racked up 11 hits on the day. Garah Milochik, Myers, and Gaughan each managed multiple hits for.
Gaughan, Myers, and Milochik all had two hits to lead the Redhawks.
