Softball goes 1-1 in First Day at Fast Pitch Dreams

MYRTLE BEACH, SC - The softball team headed down to Myrtle Beach to compete in the FastPitch Dreams Spring Classic. The team played two games yesterday to kick off their time in the tournament, and they split 1-1.

The Redhawks won the game in six innings (8-0). 

Kelly Denk earned two RBIs. Emma Bizay tied Denk and also contributed two RBIs. Quinn Hughes, Alexis Myers, and Garrah Milochik all each contributed one RBI. 

Bizay hit her first homerun of the season in the bottom of the fifth, accounting for both of her RBIs. 

Carlie Dillion pitched all six innings, and 20 batters faced off with her. She threw a total of 35 pitches, and 27 of them were strikes. She had seven total strike outs.

King's

The second game of the day did not go in favor of La Roche, and they took a rough 13-1 loss. 

Denk hit a triple in the first inning that pushed Gaughan to score. Denk was the only Redhawk to earn an RBI during this second game. 

Ashtin Hoover and Carlie Dillion both pitched in this contest. Hoover started out the game and she faced 19 batters. She threw 79 pitches, 43 of them strikes.
Dillon came in midway to finish the game. She threw 46 pitches, and 24 of them were strikes. 

The Redhawks will be in action tomorrow at the Myrtle Beach Complex to take on Cairn at 9:30 AM, and Norwich at 3:30 PM.
