Leonard, Bayer, Burford Named to AMCC All-Conference Team

The La Roche College softball team placed three on today's AMCC All-Conference Team. Senior DP Savannah Leonard, sophomore catcher Kelsey Bayer, and freshman left fielder Ashley Burford were all honored with spots of the All-Conference Third Team.

Leonard is on the All-Conference Team for the second straight season. She was solid both on the mound and at the plate. Leonard ranked third in the AMCC in hit by pitch and ninth in RBIs. She hit .306 with 24 RBIs, 14 runs, 2 home runs, and a team-high 10 walks. She also tossed 71 innings and won 5 games.

Bayer ranked among the conference's elite catchers. Defensively, she ranked fourth in the AMCC in runners caught stealing. She hit .318 with 16 runs and 14 RBIs.

Burford had an excellent debut season. She led the AMCC in triples, ranked fourth in total bases, sixth in at bats, seventh in hits and doubles, ninth in plate appearances, and twelfth in slugging percentage. She also hit for the cycle in her third collegiate game.
