Men's XC Compete At CMU Invite; Domasky Continues to Improve

OAKLAND, Pa. - The men's cross country team ran this afternoon at Schenley Park in the Carnegie Mellon Invitational. La Roche finished last among 12 competitors with a team score of 380 but many individuals ran PR's (runner code for personal record). One of those runners was Freshman standout Andy Domasky. He was the Redhawks top finisher on the day running a season best 29:45.87, good enough for 72nd out of 110 individuals. The Freshman's progression this season has been outstanding. In his first race at the Bethany Invitational (9/7), Domasky ran a 31:48.0, at Penn St. Behrend (9/13) he ran a 32:33.7, at Chatham (9/27) he ran a 30:56.98 and at his last race at Mercyhurst (10/5) he ran a 31:17.9. Today's race was over a minute faster than his second best race this season.

  • Freshman Robert Malcolm 34:57.81, 101st | Today's time is a nearly a minute faster than Malcom's previous best time (35:55.8 on 9/27 at Chatham Invite)
  • Freshman Miguel Martyr 37:16.56, 104th | Martyr ran his best time for the second straight invite, this time dropping 40 seconds from last week's race at Mercyhurst on 10/5. 
  • Sophomore Neal Shah 39:30.65, 106th
  • Sophomore Richard Nziza 41:44.12, 108th | Nziza dropped a minute and 30 seconds off his last race at Mercyhurst.
