Redhawks Selected Ninth In AMCC Preseason Poll

NORTH BOSTON, N.Y. – La Roche men's soccer was selected ninth in the 2023 AMCC Preseason Poll, released by the conference on Monday.

The Redhawks finished last season with mark of 0-13-2 overall and 0-6-1 in AMCC play, but will look to turn things around under the tutelage of new head coach Chris Karwoski.

La Roche returns 13 players from last season's roster, including a large depth of sophomore's, with eight rostered to enter the season.

Leading the way in the poll is Penn State Behrend, who is flanked by Mt. Aloysius in second place, the winner of the last two AMCC Championships.

Rounding out the top five are Pitt-Greensburg, Alfred State and Penn State Altoona.

Placing in spots six through eight are Hilbert, Carlow Pitt-Bradford and Carlow, then closing the poll behind the Redhawks is Wells.

The regular season begins for La Roche on Friday, Sept. 1 when they travel to Waynesburg University for an 8 p.m. kickoff and then host its home opener on Saturday, Sept. 2 against Chatham.

The AMCC Tournament will feature the top six teams in the standings, with the first round match-ups of #3 vs #6 and #4 vs #5 on Saturday, Oct. 28 at campus sites. The semifinals will be hosted by the top two seeds on Wednesday, Nov. 1 and the top remaining seed will host the AMCC Championship Game on Saturday, Nov. 4.
