Austin Gorman Earns AMCC Defensive Player of the Week Honors

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - After two stellar performances this past week at the Baierl Athletic Complex against conference opponents Penn St. Altoona (10/23) and Pitt Bradford (10/26), Senior goalkeeper Austin Gorman has been named the men's soccer Defensive Player of the Week.

Gorman went 2-0 this week playing all 180 minutes in two pivotal wins for La Roche. In those performances, Austin finished with eight saves and only allowed two goals, while also picking up his third shutout of the season and 9th in his career (2nd in program history). With their backs against the wall, Gorman and the Redhawks have won back-to-back games for the first time all season, clinching a spot in the conference postseason for the 13th year in a row.

Men's soccer plays their final regular season game tomorrow afternoon at Pitt Greensburg beginning at 1:00 p.m. Last season, the Redhawks defeated the Bobcats 6-3.
