Men's Soccer Falls To Medaille, Final Postseason Spot To Be Decided On Tuesday

PITTSBURGH, PA -- The La Roche men's soccer team dropped a 6-1 game against Medaille on Saturday. The winner of Tuesday's game against Penn State Altoona will move onto the playoffs. The Redhawks will also get in with a draw.

Ty Savochka just missed striking in a corner kick in the eighth minute. Medaille headed in the first score for a 1-0 lead at the ten minute mark. 

Nick Shaw provided a quality chance just a minute later and Tanner Cook kept it a one goal game with a defensive save. Austin Gorman pushed away a breakaway in the twenty-ninth minute.

Medaille slipped a shot off the crossbar which trickled inches over the goal line for a 2-0 lead late in the first half.

Gorman kept the Redhawks alive, punching away a free kick twelve minutes into the second. Medaille however found two more goals to go up 4-0.

La Roche got on the board with a Hugo Arroyo penalty kick with eighteen minutes left to play. Medaille answered on a corner kick four minutes later. They added a sixth and went on to win 6-1.
