Men's Soccer Rolls Over Pitt-Greensburg

PITTSBURGH, PA -- The La Roche men's soccer team cruised to a 6-3 win over Pitt-Greensburg on Wednesday. The Redhawks improve to 3-3-1 in the AMCC and maintain the six spot.

Ximo Vicent and Firas Abduljawad nearly connected on a give and go goal early. This set the tone for the remainder of the game. Pitt-Greensburg needed a defender to make a save twelve minutes in, but La Roche struck for a goal in the twenty-fourth minute. Abduljawad pressured the Bobcat defense to force a turnover and then blasted a shot home.

The Redhawks made it 2-0 with a masterful goal in the thirty-sixth minute. Ryan Kelly and Ximo Vicent each took a touch before Kyle Harriett fired on net. Ty Savochka headed in a Vicent corner kick just a minute later.

La Roche continued their stellar play in the second half. Abduljawad made the extra pass to find a wide open Harriett for his second tally of the game.

Pitt-Greensburg netted a rebound goal in the second half. Austin Gorman got it back, converting a PK for his first career goal.

The Bobcats scored a pair less than a minute apart in the seventy-seventh minute.

Vicent found the crossbar in the eightieth minute. Nick Gengarella put La Roche back up three with a goal inside a minute.

Harriett scored twice and Vicent picked up two assists. Abduljawad had a goal and an assist.
