Late Goals Lift Franciscan Past Men's Soccer

PITTSBURGH, PA -- The Redhawks battled back from a two goal deficit, but in the end fell 4-2 against Franciscan.

In the sixth minute, Franciscan tallied the first goal, striking a one timer into the left half of the net.

Goalkeeper Austin Gorman responded with a sliding save and a diving save to keep it at 1-0.

The Redhawks continued to play sound defense, and entered halftime trailing by just one.

The Barons struck on a set piece in the sixty-third minute. La Roche answered, cutting the lead in half in the sixty-seventh minute.

Kyle Harriett drew a foul. Ty Savochka made them pay, drilling a 50 yard boot into the back of the net.

The Redhawks grabbed the momentum and tied it in the seventeenth minute. Chris Desser sent a ball through the box and Firas Abduljawad blasted home the equalizer.

Franciscan answered with a goal just a minute later. They added a free kick goal and earned the 4-2 win.
