W&J Scores Late and Holds on for Victory

PITTSBURGH, PA -- Washington & Jefferson broke a 2-2 tie in the eighty-third minute and survived La Roche's late onslaught. W&J improves to 3-2 with the 3-2 victory and La Roche falls to 2-3.

La Roche found the back of the net just two minutes into competition but was negated on an offside call. W&J's first chance came just a minute later but Austin Gorman made a point blank save to keep it nil-nil.

In the sixth minute, Pedro Ansede tallied his fifth goal in three games. Tyler Grebur crossed the ball from the left side and found Ansede streaking through the box.

The Presidents' Paul Mokrzan scored from long distance in the fifteenth minute and matched it for a 2-1 lead in the twenty-fifth.

La Roche provided pressure on net in the second half and got a great chance when Ximo Vicent sent a free kick curling through the box.

Vicent wasn't done because just three minutes later in the seventy-fifth minute the Redhawks tied it on a set piece. La Roche won two straight corner kicks and Vicent found Kyle Harriet cutting through the middle for his first career goal.

W&J jumped ahead with a Thomas Davidson goal in the eighty-third minute. The Redhawks again found the back of the net in the eighth-seventh minutes but an offsides call brought it back.

Austin Gorman made seven saves. Ansede and Harriet scored goals while Grebur and Vicent provided assists.
