Men's Soccer Cruises in 4-1 Victory Over St. Vincent

PITTSBURGH, PA -- The La Roche men's soccer team cruised to a 4-1 victory over St. Vincent in Friday evening non-conference action.

La Roche stormed out of the gates with two goals in the first twenty minutes. Peter Spagnolo struck first heading in a Ximo Vicent cross. Pedro Ansede provided the second goal beating the keeper on a Tyler Grebur feed.

Grebur narrowly missed a third tally but Firas Abduljawad scored just three minutes later to make it 3-0. Abduljawad hustled to a ball in the right corner and beat the keeper far side.

Cameron Sharkins registered his first career goal and Kyle Harriet his first assist for a 4-0 lead with five minutes left in the half.

The Bearcats threatened with two quick shots after the half but Austin Gorman kept St. Vincent scoreless. They finally got on the board on a breakaway in the sixty-fifth minute.

La Roche outshot St. Vincent 19-9. Spagnolo, Ansede, Abduljawad and Sharkins all scored goals. Vicent, Grebur, and Sharkins provided assists.

The Redhawks will face Thiel College on Sunday afternoon at the Baierl Athletic Complex.
