Redhawks Win AMCC Conference Opener Over Pitt-Bradford

BRADFORD, PA – Ryan Luffey scored twice as La Roche men's soccer (2-5, 1-0) opened AMCC Conference play with a 4-2 win over Pitt-Bradford (1-7, 0-1) in a chilly and windy game in Northern, Pennsylvania.

Luffey finished with 2 goals and an assist to jump into second in the AMCC Conference in points.Yousef Barqawi and Philip Ross each tallied their first goals of the season and Chad Trozzi andFreddie Jones added assists. Nick Sabol made 3 stops in the Redhawks' win.

The Redhawks outshot Pitt-Bradford 33-12 including 19-5 in the second half. La Roche has outshot their opponents in every game this season. In addition to holding the clear advantage in shots, the Redhawks also attempted 13 more corner kicks than Pitt-Bradford.

La Roche men's soccer will open a three-game home stand when they host Penn State Altoona on Tuesday. The 4:00PM game is the Redhawks' home opener.
