Work Scores Hat Trick as Redhawks Extend Win Streak to Three

STEUBENVILLE, PA – Nick Work scored a hat trick as La Roche men's soccer (6-6, 5-1) cruised to a 7-1 win over AMCC conference foe Franciscan University (0-13, 0-5) on Tuesday. The win extends the Redhawks streak to 3 games and clinches a winning conference record.

Six of the Redhawks' seven goals were scored in the first half including four that found the back of the net in the opening ten minutes.

Work scored a career-high 3 goals and Bryan Weimerskirch finished with a goal and an assist to extend his point-streak to five games. Chad Trozzi had a goal to record his third in three games and Gilbert Uwineza scored for the second straight game.

Ryan Luffey assisted on one of Work's goals to register his AMCC Conference-leading tenth assist of the season. Robert Fraino and Tyler Balzer also contributed assists in the La Roche win.

The Redhawks outshot Franciscan 25-5 and attempted 10 more corner kicks.

La Roche men's soccer will host Medaille College on Saturday in an important conference game. Both teams come into the contest with a 5-1 conference record and tied for second in the AMCC standings.
