Luffey Scores Third Goal Of Season In Loss

NEW WILMINGTON, PA – Ryan Luffey scored his third goal of the season in the Redhawks (1-5) 4-1 loss at Westminster College (5-2) on Tuesday night.

Luffey buried a deflected shot in the first two minutes of the game to give La Roche a 1-0 lead. The Redhawks continued to throw shots on goal throughout the game and dominated possession, but could not find the back of the net again.

La Roche outshot Westminster 14-12 and attempted seven more corners than the host Titans. Luffey finished with a goal on 4 shots and Tyler Balzer added a career-high 3 shots. Defensemen, Mark D'UvaKurt Hoover, and Dave Hidingerregistered a shot a piece.

La Roche men's soccer will open AMCC Conference play on Saturday, September 22 at 3:00PM when they travel to Pitt-Bradford. Last season the Redhawks went 4-4-1 in conference play.
