Redhawks Season Comes To Close In AMCC Tournament First Round

ALFRED, N.Y. – La Roche men's lacrosse had its season come to a close on Wednesday afternoon at the hands of top seeded Alfred State in the First Round of the AMCC Men's Lacrosse Tournament.

The first quarter was very even and the Redhawks also held the lead on three separate occasions.

Nolan Lynam opened the scoring at 8:41, but the lead would last just 41 seconds.

Ben Cadamore moved the score to 2-1 at the 6:17 mark, but again, the lead lasted less than one minute, 39 seconds this time, when the Pioneers tied the game.

La Roche would go ahead 3-2 just 28 seconds later, on Cadamore's second of the game and the lead would last four minutes this time, but a pair of Alfred State goals in the final 1:09 made it 4-3 in favor of the hosts.

The remainder of the contest would belong to the Pioneers. The top seed would outscore the Redhawks, 9-0 in the second, taking a 13-3 lead into the break, added four more in the third and then used the fourth to outscore the red and white, 6-1.

Lynam was the lone goal scorer of the second half for La Roche, netting his second of the game at 12:34 of the fourth quarter.

Goalie Connor Radecki would finish the night with 23 saves in the cage, facing 46 shots.

La Roche's season comes to a close, but the key was breaking through for that win to end a long winless drought. Furthermore, the Redhawk 66 goals score is the most in a season since 94 in 2018-19.
