Redhawks Taken Down By Barons

STEUBENVILLE, Ohio – La Roche men's lacrosse continued its road swing with part four on Wednesday, falling to Franciscan, 27-2.

The Barons took charge early and continued to push ahead, scoring the first 16 goals of the game, 10 in the first quarter and then six in the second, all before the Redhawks would net their first.

With 3:15 left in the first half, Cody Budgick netted a man up goal, his second of the season, for La Roche to make it 16-1, but two more Franciscan goals went in the back of the net as it was 18-1 going into halftime.

Out of the break, the Barons would score two third period goals and seven more in the fourth.

The Redhawks concluded the scoring with 41 seconds remaining in the game, as Isaiah Hubbard scored his fourth of the year.

La Roche ended the game with 12 shots and seven shots on goal.

Hubbard led the team with four shots, while Budgick and Caden Malek both placed to on the cage to lead the Redhawks in that department.

Goalie Connor Radecki faced 42 shots in the contest and came up with 15 saves.

La Roche concludes the road stretch on Friday, Mar. 8 when it travels to Bryn Athyn. Opening faceoff is set for 4 p.m.
