Men’s Lacrosse Falls Short against Bethany

PITTSBURGH, PA -- La Roche played it's closest game of the season, falling to Bethany in a competitive match 10-7. The Redhawks are now 0-5 on the season and 0-3 at home.

The first quarter started off slowly as Bethany entered the stoppage ahead just 1-0.

The second quarter was packed with action. Bethany held a 6-2 lead through 10 minutes, but three different Redhawks scored goals over the final five minutes to close the gap to 6-5 by halftime.

Bethany took control with four more scores in the second half. Despite two more goals by La Roche in the final minutes, the Redhawks came short of the comeback, losing 10-7.

La Roche picked up 41 ground balls on the day and achieved 25 out of their 36 clears.

Zach Olpako and Devin Wolford both scored goals for the Redhawks. John Aiello, Bryan Pajewski, and Jake Podsiadly all had assists on the day.

Shawn McDanel registered a goal and an assist. Brent Burkhouse and Nick Sylvis collected three-point games, as both finished with 2 goals and 1 assist.

The Redhawks travel to Franciscan on Wednesday.
