Men's Lacrosse Comes Up Short in Home Opener

PITTSBURGH, PA -- The La Roche College men's lacrosse team dropped their home opener to Washington & Jefferson 19-2 on Thursday evening. The Redhawks fall to 0-2 on the season.

Nick Sylvis and Brent Burkhouse provided the La Roche offense. Sylvis got to work early, picking off a pass and then firing it in the net for a first quarter tally. Burkhouse registered the Redhawks' second goal. Charlie King forced a Presidents' turnover, and Bryan Pajewski found Burkhouse for the score.

Nick Sylvis attempted a game-high 12 shots. Chris Sylvis was solid in net, pushing away 20 shots. Shawn McDanel had 11 ground balls and John Aiello forced two turnovers. 

McDanel and Zach Opalko helped the Redhawks win the faceoff battle.
