McDanel Climbs Into Second On School's Ground Ball List, Lacrosse Falls At Alvernia

READING, PA – The La Roche College Lacrosse team was back in action on Saturday afternoon. The Redhawks traveled to Alvernia College but came home on the wrong end of a 27-4 game.

Brad LaBovick got the Redhawks on the board early in the second quarter. La Roche drew a penalty and LaBovick made Alvernia pay, burying a feed from Brent Burkhouse.

LaBovick cut it to 16-2 at halftime with a goal just before the buzzer sounded. Shawn McDanel set Charlie King up for a goal late in the third quarter and LaBovick added another tally in the fourth quarter.

LaBovick finished with a hat trick and Burkhouse two helpers. King had a goal and McDanel an assist.

Shawn McDanel recorded 17 ground balls to climb into a tie for second place on the school's all-time list. Joel Chavez made 10 saves.
