La Roche Golf Places 2nd, 4th in Weekend Tournaments

La Roche men's golf enjoyed a successful weekend in Central Pennsylvania finishing with a second place finish at the Mt. Aloysius Invitational on Friday and following it up with a fourth place finish at the Penn State Altoona Invitational on Saturday.

The Redhawks finished first among all NCAA Division III opponents and second to Division I St. Francis at the Mt. Aloysius Invitational. La Roche finished nine strokes ahead of Thiel College and seventeen strokes ahead of Mt. Aloysius who was second among AMCC Conference schools. Kevin Loutsenhizer tied for the individual championship and placed three strokes ahead of any other Division III finishers. Nolan Shank had the third-best DIII score at 78 and Jeff Held had the fifth lowest at 79. Jared Vetica followed with an 82 and Reed Tomlinson shot a 97.

La Roche shot a team-score of 330 at the Penn State Altoona Invitational to finish tied for fourth and only two strokes back of Penn State Behrend who led all NCAA Division III schools. Kevin Loutsenhizer paced La Roche with an 8th place finish and Nolan Shank followed at 10th with an 81. Jared Vetica shot an 83, Jeff Held an 87, and Reed Tomlinson a 98.

La Roche men's golf will travel to Penn State Behrend Invitational on Thursday at 11:00AM. Last season the Redhawks won the tournament thanks to Jeff Held's tie-breaking 85.
