HAMBURG, NY - Men's basketball added to their undefeated win streak this evening with a win over the Hilbert Hawks.
Going into halftime, La Roche wasn't playing their best game. The team was down by 5 points, and were struggling to find their rhythm.
Emerging from the locker room to help start the offensive charge was Joe Pipilo. The senior went into the locker room with six points to his name, but by the end of the game he had netted 21 points, going seven-for-thirteen. Pipilo also led the defensive charge, snagging 11 defensive rebounds alone. His final rebounding total was 14, and with it, he earned his first double-double of the season.
Devon Darrell continued to be a sentinel for the Redhawks. Darrell scored 26 points to round out the team. Between the efforts of these two veteran players, La Roche was able to outscore Hilbert 51-37 in the second period, bringing home a 83-74 win for the team.
The team will be back at home on Wednesday against Penn State-Altoona. Not only is Altoona the only team the Redhawks haven't faced off with yet in the conference season. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
