Men's Basketball Sneaks a Win Past Celtics

PITTSBURGH, PA - Men's Basketball defeated the Carlow University Celtics in tonight's contest with a final score of 67-57.

The atmosphere in La Roche's home court tonight seemed to sizzle as the Redhawks looked to come back after a loss to RIT and Carlow was hoping to be adding a win to their 1-10 record. La Roche was also going to be on the lookout for someone to step up their game as Joe Pipilo was unable to participate in tonight's contest.

The game started off rocky in the first half for our Redhawks, they couldn't get a shot to fall their way. The team was able to maintain their lead going into the locker room all because of Frank Stumpo. Within his ten minutes on the court in the first half Stumpo sunk 3 three-point shots, to tally 9 points, and keep La Roche on top.

The battle still wasn't over when the teams emerged from the locker room, each with renewed energy.

The Redhawk defense buckled down and was able to score a total of 22 points from Carlow's turnovers. Leading the fast break charge were Devon Darrell and Micheal Brooks. Both guards on the court tonight tallied 15 points.

Pulling big rebounds for La Roche consistently throughout the game was Jordan "Six" Grayson. Grayson led with 8 rebounds, and also recorded 12 points.

The team will take a short break as the players prepare for their final exams of the fall semester and will be back at home on December 10th against Albion. Tipoff is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
