Tyler Frederick Named AMCC Player of the Week

NORTH BOSTON, N.Y. - For the third time this season and the fifth time in his career, Junior forward Tyler Frederick has been dubbed the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference men's basketball Player of the Week as announced by the AMCC Monday afternoon. Frederick led the Redhawks in scoring in both wins last week and helped LRU secure the number one seed in the conference tournament for the third year in a row and at least a share of the AMCC regular season title. 

In an 82-75 victory against Franciscan on Wednesday, Frederick put up big numbers with 28 points and tied his career-high with 19 rebounds, picking up his conference-leading 14th double-double of the season (T-9th in D-III). Later in the week, Frederick led the Redhawks to a comeback win at Hilbert College with a team-high 19 points and contributed four rebounds, two steals, an assist and a block. On the week, Frederick averaged 23.5 points, 11.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists while shooting 70% (16-23) from the floor, 55.6% (5-9) from deep and a perfect 10-10 at the free throw line.

The AMCC Preseason Player of the Year continues to lead the conference in points per game (19.3) and rebounds per game (11.8, 10th in D-III).
