Redhawks Top Pitt-Greensburg, Run Win-Streak to Eight Games

PITTSBURGH, PA -- La Roche men's hoops improved to 11-0 in the AMCC and ran their win-streak to eight games after defeating Pitt-Greensburg 92-72 on Wednesday night. The Redhawks are 16-2 on the season.

Pitt-Greensburg opened on a 6-0 run and led by as many as ten points at the 15:16 mark of the first half. La Roche inched their way back, and a Caden Kryz three-pointer gave the Redhawks their first lead at 22-21.

The Redhawks used the long ball to stretch their halftime lead to 43-30. Zach Gould and Tyler Frederick combined for 5 three-pointers over the half's final five minutes.

La Roche and Pitt-Greensburg hovered around a 15 point differential for the opening eight minutes of the second half. The Redhawks blew things open with a 17-1 run. Gould contributed 11 points and La Roche held the Bobcats without a field goal for over a six minute stretch.

Pitt-Greensburg cut the deficit back to 17 points, but Spencer Everley drained a three-pointer with 44 seconds left to make it a 20 point victory.

Gould finished with 24 points and upped his season average to 16.7 ppg. He also hit 6 three-pointers, for an AMCC-best 67.

Frederick finished with 13 points and Austin Hannes 11 points.

The Redhawks outrebounded Pitt-Greensburg 43-28. They also limited turnovers to just nine.
