Redhawks Enter Conference Schedule's Halfway Point With Perfect AMCC Record

PITTSBURGH, PA –La Roche men's basketball cruised to a 73-42 victory over Pitt-Bradford on Saturday afternoon. The Redhawks enter the conference schedule's halfway point with a perfect 9-0 record for the first-time in program history.

The Redhawks turned a 9-7 deficit into a 20-11 lead over a four minute stretch of the first half. Zach Gould gave La Roche the lead, draining a three on a feed from Tyler Frederick. Frederick grabbed a defensive rebound and went coast to coast, throwing down and dunk and getting fouled in the process. Austin Hannes and Caden Kryz followed with three pointers.

Following a Panther field goal, Zach Gould extended the Redhawk lead to ten, hitting a contested three pointer in the corner. Gould buried another three and Pitt-Bradford was forced to take a timeout to regroup from a thirteen point deficit.

Frederick added a three late in the half and Gould hit two more three-pointers for a 37-19 halftime lead.

Gould opened the second half with his fifth long ball of the game. Pitt-Bradford cut the deficit back to fifteen, but the Redhawks answered with a 10-0 run. La Roche forced four straight turnovers, turning three into fastbreak layups.

The Redhawks continued to pull away, and a heads up play by Darrell Barron turned a turnover into La Roche points and a thirty-one point lead. Luke McDonough, Spencer Everley, and Desmond Ross scored points down the stretch.

Gould finished with a game-high 18 points and hit 6 three-pointers. Frederick registered a double-double with 15 points and 14 rebounds. Darius Lawrence dished out 5 assists.

La Roche held a 49-35 edge on the boards. They held Pitt-Bradford to just 29% shooting while they converted 39% of their own shots.
