BRADFORD, Pa. – La Roche baseball had a tremendous day on the mound, as both starters tossed complete games, holding Pitt-Bradford to three total runs across 16 total innings in the doubleheader sweep of the Panthers.

GAME ONE: La Roche 2 Pitt-Bradford 1

La Roche was first on the board in the top of the first inning when Christian Melendez drew a bases loaded walk to make it 1-0.

It wasn't until the top of the fourth in the seven inning opener of the doubleheader when the Redhawks struck again, as Brandon Snyder crossed the plate on a wild pitch to make it 2-0.

The lone Panther run scored in the bottom of the fifth as the run scored on a double play.

Larry Bielawski was the highlight of game one for La Roche, allowing just the one run, three hits, one walk and fanned four in the complete game victory.

Offensively, La Roche had six hits in game one, with Dimitri Gary (2-for-3) and Tanner Schmitt (2-for-4) leading the way.

GAME TWO: La Roche 4 Pitt-Bradford 2

Game two once again saw the Redhawks jump ahead, scoring a pair of runs in the top of the second to make it 2-0.

Both runs crossed on fielder's choice, one by Danny Suarez that did not constitute an RBI and one by Dom Brncic, which did earn an RBI.

Pitt-Bradford's first run crossed in the top of the fourth, crossing on a La Roche error.

Suarez would pick up an RBI in the top of the sixth, driving in Cameron Mauk with an RBI single to move the score to 3-1.

Gary added more insurance for the red and black in the top of the ninth, singling in Schmitt to move the edge to 4-1.

The Panthers had an opportunity in the bottom of the ninth to do damage and would cut the deficit to 4-2 on an RBI single, but were stifled after that.

Casey Jones had an impressive afternoon on the mound, picking up the complete game, nine inning victory, allowing two runs, six hits, one walk and set down seven.

Offensively, the Redhawks had five hits with batters three through seven in the order all picking up one each.

La Roche is right back on the diamond Tuesday, Apr. 2 as it travels to Penn State Altoona for another AMCC doubleheader. First pitch of game one is slated for 1 p.m.
