La Roche falls to No. 1 Seed Behrend after Two Runs in the Sixth Inning

ERIE, PA - La Roche University stayed in it until the end, but Penn State Behrend pulled away late in an 11-6 victory on Friday.

 The game was tied at five with Pennsylvania State University Behrend batting in the bottom of the sixth when Zack Bowen's sac fly scored one run for the Lions.

Despite the loss, the Redhawks did collect 11 hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Pennsylvania State University Behrend had 15 hits on the way to victory.

In the second inning, La Roche got their offense started. Justin Stancovich drove in two with a home run. 

Pennsylvania State University Behrend took the lead for good with two runs in the sixth inning. In the sixth Issac Stouffer singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

Behrend scored four runs in the seventh inning. The big inning came thanks to singles by Bowen and Juston Jones.

Shane Murphy took the loss for LRU . The righty lasted one-third of an inning, allowing two hits and two runs.

Jackson Rogers started off on the mound for the Redhawks. The righthander surrendered five runs on eight hits over five innings, striking out three and walking zero. 

La Roche launched one home run on the day. Stancovich had a long ball in the second inning.

The Redhawks totaled 11 hits. Stancovich, Mason Brooks, Tyler Simpson, and Ryan Lynn each had multiple hits. 

Lynn, Simpson, Brooks, and Stancovich each collected two hits to lead the team. La Roche  was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Nathan Stutz had the most chances in the field with seven.
