ALFRED, NY - This afternoon the baseball team of La Roche University traveled to Alfred state to play two. The first game for the Redhawks resulted in a loss.

La Roche scored first on a wild pitch from Alfred State's AJ Gartaland. Danny McCaffrey was the runner able to slide across home plate to get the run on the board.

Alfred State answered at their turn up at the plate, taking the lead by one after a single to left field.

In the fifth inning, Redhawk pitcher Zack Oddi gave up a home run to Matteo Avallone which extended the Pioneers' lead to two runs.

In their final turn up at bat La Roche tried to come back with a single off the bat of Anthony Cioffi, pushing Tyler Simpson over home plate, but it wasn't enough. LRU fell to Alfred State 3-2.

McCaffrey and Cioffi and the only two Redhawks credited with a hit in game one.
