Preview: Baseball Hosts Penn St. Behrend

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The La Roche University baseball team will host Penn St. Behrend tomorrow, Saturday April 17th at the Baierl Athletic Complex in an AMCC doubleheader. Game one is set to begin at 1:00 p.m.

  • The Behrend Lions enter the doubleheader with a 12-4 overall record and 5-1 conference mark
  • Behrend dropped a non-conference single nine-inning game 13-4 to Fredonia on Wednesday
  • The Lions held a 4-3 lead through seven innings before the Blue Devils combined for 10 runs in the final two innings
  • Tanner Cicchini led with a 2-for-5 showing while Zac Bogats had two stolen bases
  • Earlier in the week, sophomore Derrick Shields was named AMCC Pitcher of the Week
  • Shields threw a three-hit complete game shutout with eight strikeouts last week against Pitt-Bradford. He is ranked second in the AMCC in total strikeouts with 26
