McCANDLESS, Pa. - The La Roche University baseball program announced it's 2021 spring schedule Tuesday afternoon.

After having their 2020 season cut short last march after just eight games due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Redhawks are slated to play* 22 regular season games in 2021. 16 of those contests will be AMCC contests and 10 of them will be played at home. All gamedays will be doubleheaders, five at home and six on the road.

LRU baseball opens their season on March 20th in a non-conference doubleheader against Pitt Bradford at 1:00 p.m. The team hits the road a week later to open conference play at Hilbert (3/27) before returning to La Roche three days later for their conference home opener against Pitt Greensburg (3/30).

The Redhawks open the month of April at Penn St. Behrend in a non-conference doubleheader on Thursday, April 1st at 1:00 p.m. Two days later, LRU will host Pitt Bradford once again but the second doubleheader will be a conference matchup. Baseball then hits the road for two conference doubleheaders against Pitt Greensburg (4/7) and Medaille (4/10) before returning home to host two doubleheaders vs. Penn St. Altoona (4/13) and Penn St. Behrend (4/17).

The team's final two conference doubleheaders will be away at Mt. Aloysius (4/21) and at Alfred St (4/24).

After the conclusion of the regular season, the Redhawks will hope to have secured a berth into the AMCC Tournament. The conference tournament begins with a play-in game on Tuesday, May 4 before first round games on Saturday, May 8. The AMCC Championship series is set for Wednesday, May 19 at the site of the highest remaining seed, with a bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament on the line.

*The baseball schedule for La Roche Athletics and the entire AMCC will be contingent on following strict COVID-19 protocols and health guidelines. The potential exists for various schedule changes to occur, based on a myriad of coronavirus-related issues. Additionally, weather-related delays, postponements, and cancelations are possibilities throughout the season. All of these changes, should they happen, will be communicated through the La Roche Athletics' website and social media channels.
