LA ROCHE WINS SIXTH STRAIGHT AMCC CHAMPIONSHIP, SEVENTH IN EIGHT YEARS

The La Roche University Redhawks are champions again! Starting pitcher Tristen Tinney shut down Penn State Altoona and Shane Roebuck blasted a home run to help the Redhawks win their sixth straight AMCC Championship and their seventh in the past eight years.

Tinney, Tre Thomas, and Travis Holman were named to the AMCC All Tournament Team after dominating the past three days. The trio allowed just one earned run over twenty-five innings.

Seniors Roebuck and Joe Professori made team history. Roebuck's home run tied David Lemley for the school's career home run mark while Professori broke the career RBI record.

Tristen Tinney took the hill to start the AMCC Championship Game and opened with a scoreless first inning. He followed with a perfect second inning and Jonathan Melendez gave the Redhawks a 1-0 lead with a sacrifice fly to score Jonathan Spina.

The Redhawks left the bases loaded in the third but Tinney kept Altoona runners stranded in the top of the fourth and La Roche added one in the bottom of the inning.

Melendez hit a one-out double into right field, took second on a wild pitch, and scored on a Dylan Urban sac fly.

Tinney continued to shut down the Lions and Shane Roebuck came through with a two-run home run in the bottom of the fifth. Roebuck's home run tied David Lemley for the school's career home run record.

Urban made a diving catch in the bottom of the sixth. Tinney used a strikeout to get out of two-out two-on jam in the seventh inning.

Another record went down in the seventh inning as Joe Professori drove in two to break the school's RBI record.

Tre Cunningham entered in relief in the top of the eighth and tossed a scoreless inning. Jake Seymour followed with a scoreless ninth for the Redhawks seventh AMCC Championship.
