W&J Tops Redhawks 10-6

Washington & Jefferson took control early, scoring a run in the first inning and then striking for 7 runs in the second.

The Redhawks refused to quit and chipped away with a run in the second and four more in the third.

Tristen Tinney laid down a bunt to score Shane Roebuck in the third. Kifer led off the fourth with a single and scored on a Hoffman double to left. A Jon Spina groundout advanced Hoffman home and Jay Novak tripled to cut it to 8-5.

Tre Cunningham pitched a scoreless fourth and fifth inning. The Presidents added an unearned run in the sixth but Zach Oddi got a strikeout to leave the bases loaded.

Joe Professori beat out a play at first to score Brandon Nania in the sixth.

W&J got the run back in the seventh and went on to earn the 10-6 win.
