Bridgewater State 8 La Roche 7 (12 innings)
La Roche baseball lost in the final game of their spring break trip to Bridgewater St. 8-7.
In the 12 innings they played, La Roche put 5 pitchers on the mound. Travis Holman pitched 5 innings, gave up 4 hits, and struck out 3 opposing batters. For 3 more innings, Zach Oddi gave up 3 hits, but had 2 strikeouts against Bridgewater St. Joshua Kuderian pitched 2 innings and gave up 4 hits but was able to contribute another strikeout to slow the opposition.
Austin Hoffman scored 2 runs off of 3 hits with 5 at bats. Shane Roebuck had 4 plate appearances and scored 2 runs off of both of his hits. With Jonathan Spina's 3 at bats, he was able to score a run off of his 2 hits.
The Redhawks started the game off with the first run, but Bridgewater St. answered with 2 runs at the bottom of the first. With 5 more runs scored by the bottom of the 6th, La Roche was ready to take home the victory, but Bridgewater St. scored 5 runs by the bottom of the 8th. La Roche tied it at the top of the 9th, but Bridgewater St. just couldn't let them have it. They scored again in the bottom of the 12th to take the win.

La Roche 11 Swarthmore 5
La Roche 9 Ohio Wesleyan 5
La Roche baseball defeats Swarthmore 11-5 and Ohio Wesleyan 9-5 on day 5 of their Spring break tourney.
Against Swarthmore, pitchers Tre Thomas and Tre Cunningham pitched 7 of the 9 innings and each contributed 2 strikeouts to slow the opposing team. La Roche put 4 pitchers on the mound today and they limited Swarthmore offensively over all 9 innings.
It was clear La Roche was in for the victory when they were able to score 7 runs in a row before Swarthmore could score 2. Troy Kifer was able to score a run off of all 3 of his hits. Dylan Urban and Jonathan Spina were able to each get 2 runs on 4 hits.
Against Ohio Wesleyan, pitchers Garren Telesz and Chris Hanlon pitched 8 of the 9 innings and got 12 of the 13 strikeouts. The 13th strikeout came from Mike Nuzzo who had no hits, no errors, and a strikeout.
Jay Novak got 2 runs off of 4 hits and Shane Roebuck contributed 2 runs off of 5 hitting attempts. By the bottom of the 3rd, La Roche had scored 4 runs, 3 unearned. It appeared Ohio Wesleyan was attempting to make a comeback at the bottom of the 5th but it just wasn't enough to best the Redhawks.
La Roche has one final game in Florida against Bridgewater St. before returning home from spring break.

Kean 3 La Roche 2
PORT CHARLOTTE, FL -- #24 Kean held off a charging La Roche Baseball in a thriller on Tuesday night. The Redhawks left a runner at third base in the bottom of the ninth to fall to Kean 3-2.
Joe Professori's incredible on-base streak came to an end on Tuesday night. He entered the game having reached base 58 straight times, which ranked sixth in NCAA Division III history.
Kean used a leadoff single and sacrifice fly to grab a 1-0 lead in the first inning. Starting pitcher Tristin Tinney then settled in and absolutely shut down Kean for the reminader of the game.
Tinney did not allow a runner past first base in the second, third, and fourth innings. He then used a flyout to left field to get out of a two-on and two-out jam in the fifth inning. Tinney sent Kean down in order in the sixth and seventh innings.
La Roche could not convert on solid chances to get runs in both the third and fifth innings. Three Redhawks reached base in the third inning but a sharp ground ball to third base ended the threat. They then left runners on the corners in the fifth.
La Roche tied it in the bottom of the seventh. Dylan Urban led off the inning and advanced all the way to second on an error. A Kifer ground ball sent Urban to third base, before a Shane Roebuck sacrifice fly evened it at 1-1.
Kean responded in the top of the eighth. A leadoff walk and balk got runners into scoring position, while a single advanced them to the corners. Relief pitcher Jake Seymour was able to pick up two strikeouts, Kean took advantage of a pair of errors and two runs.
In the eighth, Adam Hoffman drew a leadoff walk and advanced to second on a John Spina single through the left side. Hoffman took third on a flyout and then Brandon Nania beat out an infield hit to get the Redhawks within a run. Kean used two straight strikeouts to end the inning.
Seymour sent Kean down in order in the top of the ninth.
Kifer led off the bottom of the ninth with a single into left field. Pieto drew a one-out walk and Kifer stole third to put the tying run ninety feet away. La Roche however followed with a strikeout and flyout to end the game.
Hoffman got on base three times and scored. Nania and Roebuck hit in runs and Urban scored.
Tinney allowed just one earned run over 7.1 innings. Jake Seymour tossed a scoreless 1.2 innings and struck out 4 of the 6 batters he faced.

La Roche 9 Eastern Connecticut State 4
La Roche 7 Eastern Connecticut State 5
La Roche College baseball clinches two more wins against Eastern Conn. St. 9-4 and 7-3 during the Snowbird Baseball Classic being held in Florida.
The Redhawks are taking advantage of their spring break in Port Charlotte, FL, but that isn't stopping them from getting down to business on the field. Going undefeated in the Snowbird Baseball Classic so far, the guys aren't messing around.
In their first game against Eastern Conn. St., Dustin Lander pitched all 7 innings and struck out 6 of the opposing batters to help La Roche clinch the victory. The opposing three pitchers were only able to strike out 3 of the Redhawks.
At bat, Joe Professori, Austin Hoffman, and Jay Novak were all a part of the team's batting success. Professori was able to get a run with all 3 of his at bats. Hoffman scored 2 runs off his 3 batting attempts and contributed 3 RBIs. Novak's hits on all 3 of his at batsbrought 3 batters in.
In the second game, La Roche switched it up on the pitching mound with Alek Tesla and Zach Oddi. Tesla pitched 6 innings striking out 4 batters and allowing for only 3 runs. Oddi pitched 3 innings and he also put up 4 strike outs and allowed for no runs.
Jonathan Spina, Joe Professori, and Troy Kifer were all predators while handling the aluminum. Spina was able to score two runs in his 3 at bats, and he was also responsible for 1 RBI. Professori brought in runs with all 4 of his at bats and contributed a run himself. And Kifer scored 2 runs off his 3 batting appearances.

La Roche 11 Susquehanna 4
The Redhawks picked up their second victory in as many days against Susquehanna, using an 11-4 win to move to 2-0 in Florida.
The first two innings featured no scoring, but La Roche got on the board in the third, as Tristin Tinney singled to right field to bring home Jonathan Melendez.
Susquehanna grabbed a 2-1 lead in the top of the fourth inning. Troy Kifer tied it in the fifth with a single through the left side to score Jay Novak.
Brandon Nania broke the tie in the sixth inning, sending a ball into the outfield to score Tinney on a sacrifice fly.
Dylan Urban opened the seventh inning with a solo shot. Jon Spina followed with an RBI up the middle and a 5-3 lead.
The Redhawks put up 5 runs in the bottom of the 8th inning. Novak singled up the left field line to bring in Urban and Austin Hoffman. Spina was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to allow Novak to walk in for a run. Shane Roebuck advanced home on a passed ball and Tinney added his second run of the game.
Travis Holman struck out 5 over 6 innings and allowed just 2 runs. Jake Seymour picked up the victory in relief. Maddux Ryan and Tre Cunningham also pitched an inning each.
Novak 2 for 4, 2 runs, 2 RBI, 2B. Spina 3 RBI. Urban HR, 2 RBI, run. Tinney 2 runs, RBI, 2 BB. Roebuck 2 runs, 2 BB.

La Roche 14 Susquehanna 7
The La Roche College baseball team opened their spring trip with a 14-7 victory over Susquehanna on Saturday evening. The Redhawks will complete their two-game series with the Riverhawks tomorrow at 2pm.
Joe Professori got on base five times and finished just a triple shy of the cycle. He scored four, hit in four, and stole a base.
Jonathan Melendez had 2 RBIs, scored twice, and swiped a bag. Austin Hoffman and Jon Spina had two runs.
Tre Thomas earned the victory after allowing two earned runs in five innings. Jake Seymour and Chris Hanlon each tossed an inning of scoreless relief.
Susquehanna grabbed the lead with a four run second inning. Starting pitcher Tre Thomas responded and slowed the Riverhawk offense, while La Roche's bats strung together runs in five consecutive innings.
A Joe Professori RBI single and Dylan Urban sacrifice fly cut the deficit to 4-2 in the top of the third inning. Then the Redhawks took the lead in the fourth inning as Jonathan Melendez singled home Austin Hoffman and Melendez and Professori scored runs.
Urban singled, stole a base, and scored on a Hudson Novak sac fly in the fifth inning, before Melendez and Professori scored runs in the sixth.
Susquehanna got two back in the bottom of the sixth. La Roche answered in the top of the seventh. Troy Kifer walked and scored on a Hoffman triple into center field. Melendez drove in Hoffman and then Professori drove a deep fly ball over the outfield wall for a two-run homer. Brandon Nania added a run on a wild pitch for a 13-6 lead.
Jake Seymour left two Susquehanna runners on in the seventh inning. Teams traded runs in the following inning, with Professori driving in his fourth run of the game.
Susquehanna was threatening in the bottom of the ninth inning, but Chris Hanlon got the Riverhawks to ground into game-ending 4-6-3 double play.
