Emrich and Thomas Earn Spots on All-America Team

La Roche College Baseball has added more hardware to it's trophy case. Today, D3Baseball honored senior Shane Emrich and sophomore Tre Thomas with spots on the All-America Team. Emrich and Thomas join Ian Velez (2017), Luis Navedo (2016), Tanner Wilt (2016), and Colin Feikles (2014) as Redhawk All-Americans.

Emrich was officially honored as the nation's top relief pitcher after earning a spot on the All-America First Team. Emrich becomes the first Redhawk to earn first team status. He finished the season with 7 saves and a 0.71 ERA. He went 3-0 with 40 strikeouts and allowed just 2 earned runs over 25.1 innings. He was a Mideast All-Region First Team and AMCC All-Conference First Team selection and struck out 5 batters in 4 scoreless innings in the NCAA Mideast Regional.

Thomas has pretty much won every award he is eligible for. He adds D3Baseball All-American Honorable Mention status to All-Mideast Region First Team, AMCC Pitcher of the Year, AMCC All-Conference First Team, AMCC All-Tournament Team, and AMCC Pitcher of the Week (twice). He is the only underclassmen starting pitcher to be named an All-American. He went 9-1 with a 1.47 ERA and 70 strikeouts in 61.1 innings. He led the AMCC Conference in wins and ERA and also ranked 16th and 18th in each category. He allowed just one run and four hits over 6.2 innings to beat Ithaca 5-1.
