La Roche College Baseball has added more hardware to it's trophy case. Today, D3Baseball honored senior third baseman Ian Velez with a spot on the All-America Team. Velez is just the third player in program history to make D3Baseball's All-America Team joining teammates Tanner Wilt and Luis Navedo. Velez also joins Colin Feikles who was named an ABCA/Rawlings All-American in 2014.
Velez makes D3Baseball's All-American Honorable Mention team after being name to the Mideast All-Region First Team just two days ago. Velez was also on this year's AMCC All-Conference First Team after making it as a Third Team outfielder last year. Velez led the AMCC in hits while ranking second in batting average, sixth in on base percentage and runs, eighth in total bases and RBIs and ninth in triples. Velez ranked third in the nation in toughest to strike out, sixteenth in hits and twenty-ninth in batting average.
