NCAA Mideast Regional: Redhawks Walk-it-off! Defeat #2 Frostburg State 4-3, Advance to Play W&J Tomorrow at 3:15pm

WASHINGTON, PA -- Walk it off! For the second time in as many days the La Roche Baseball team was involved in a walk-off, but this time the Redhawks came up on the winning side. Colin Feikles found the left field gap in the bottom of the ninth to score Tyler Craig and earn a 4-3 win over #2 Frostburg State University. La Roche will face another familiar foe tomorrow when they take on W&J at 3:15pm.

Walt Hadjuk was electric in the complete game win. He gave up just one earned run to pick up his seventh win of the season.

"All year we've had strong senior leadership and that was true again today", said Coach Rowe. "Walt's won some big games in the past and he proved it today with a solid performance".

Franzee Barlamas gave La Roche an early lead smacking a 2-out double and scoring on a John Watson single up the middle. Frostburg State tied it in the fourth but Hadjuk ended the inning with a bases loaded strike out.

The Redhawks capitalized with two runs in the bottom of the fifth. Matt Sabatini singled and Watson slid around the catcher to score on a play at the plate. Tyler Craig provided a 2-out RBI hit in the next at bat for the 3-1 lead. The Bobcats tied it in the fifth but Hadjuk minimized the damage again leaving runners on the corner.

La Roche stayed in the game with spectacular play from their middle infield. Craig saved an extra base hit with a leaping catch and then Craig and Feikles turned a game-saving bases loaded double play in the eighth.

Craig and Feikles came through again in the ninth with the game-winning run.

Feikles and Watson had RBIs with Craig, Watson, Sabatini and Barlamas scoring runs.
